‘ZERO Landfill Columbus’ connects with community recycling initiative
Collection of Free Materials available to Local Artists and Educators

As part of a continued community recycling initiative, ZEROlandfill Columbus invites local artist, educators, students and recyclers to the Hamilton Parker Tile Company to receive design samples/materials that can be used for various projects. Our ‘Pick-up’ days are Friday October 23rd and October 30th from 12:00 – 4:00pm for anyone interested in these materials. The pilot program is wrapping up this month, so everything must go!

Architecture and design firms, along with manufacturer’s reps have joined forces to donate surplus materials from their libraries. Items such as carpet, plastic laminate chips, fabric swatches, wall covering books, and three ring binders are available. All items are FREE, and there is no limit to how much one person can take - First come, first serve!

ZERO Landfill is a community-wide program designed to divert waste from the local landfills and promote re-purposing of unused materials. Thus far we have collected over 10,000 pounds of material, diverting it all from the local landfill. The program has gained momentum in other areas of Ohio and Kentucky and is an opportunity to make great local connections with schools, art groups, and non-profit organizations in need of material donations for their own projects.

The Hamilton Parker Company has donated a portion of their warehouse facility, located at 1865 Leonard Ave, to host ZERO Landfill for the four-week duration of the program. Organizers have started collecting materials early and have loads of great materials ready for the taking!

This is a completely volunteer-driven program that operates with no funding. For further information, volunteer opportunities, and distribution updates, please visit our website found at: http://zerolandfillcolumbus.ning.com/
