Richard II, by Cincinnati Shakespeare Co.

This is the beginning of CSC’s ambitious plan to present the eight-play “history cycle” about the stories of five kings, dramatized by Shakespeare, a feat rarely performed in the United States. The History Cycle refers to a series of chronological historical plays written by Shakespeare spanning over 100 years of British history, also known as “The War of the Roses”, consisting of Richard II, Henry IV Part 1, Henry IV Part 2, and Henry V. The cycle continues on to Henry VI Parts 1, 2 & 3 and ends… Show more with Richard III. CSC will stage all 8 of these plays over the next five years so audiences are encouraged to catch “Richard II” now to start the cycle. This will be the first time Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will produce “Richard II” and it is also the penultimate production in CSC’s quest to “Finish the Canon”. CSC will have produced Shakespeare’s entire canon of 38 plays by the end of its 20th anniversary season, next season.”
